It’s no secret that Cosmo loves Love Island. We’ve had Serena, Kordell, and Rob in print, Olandria has graced our New York offices, and we just threw the baddest season 8 watch party in all the land (more on this later). The cherry on top? The Bombshell herself, Ariana Madix, sat down for a Blind Date with Willa. How lucky we are! Guesses were iconic on Willa’s part: Andy Cohen, Tyra Banks, Allen Cummings, Simon Cowell (Ariana loved this one), and Olandria. Would I want someone to think I was Simon Cowell? Should we get Simon Cowell on here? Sorry, forgive my tangent.
Willa was elated to see Ariana across the table, and they immediately dug into the reader’s questions. A major tip right off the bat: order a mezcal margarita with tajín on the rim on a first date. Result: spicy make-out. Report back if you try this. Then, they talked about Ariana’s past life as a Disney character actress and the most disturbing things she’s seen as a bartender. You’ll clutch your pretend pearls over this, just to warn you. I especially loved hearing her Love Island Mount Rushmore and the major sign that a couple might not make it outside of the Villa. Let’s just say, if you haven’t already, take a trip to the bank or the grocery store with your partner. It’ll reveal everything you need to know. Oh, and Ariana is in a wonderful, emotionally safe, and happy relationship! Love to know that the universe always makes things right.
This episode’s vintage Cosmo was a September 2018 issue with Nina Dobrev on the cover (Nina and Ariana share glam team members. Small world!). Unsurprisingly, Ariana gave the best advice on what to do if your fiancé has a dream about calling off your wedding, how to navigate having a crush while in a relationship, and how to come out when your circle isn’t as supportive as they should be. Love Audit revealed her favorite Tove Lo song (“Disco Tits”), her thoughts on sharing locations (into it), and when it’s okay to date a friend’s ex (only if they dated as far back as kindergarten).
